WORK SESSION
OCTOBER 22, 2007

The Akeley City Council met in a work
session Monday, October 22, 2007 at 7:00 PM. Tom Moore called the
meeting to order. Members present were Tom Moore, Eric Sjolin,
Brian Hitchcock, Cliff Johnson and Frank Lamb. The Pledge of
Allegiance was recited by the Council and attending audience.
The Council reviewed the General,
Maintenance, and Police Budgets for 2008. Denise Rittgers, Frank
Thelin and Eric Klein were present to discuss with the Council, any
changes that could be made to the budgets in regards to their
departments in order to lower the levy.
PERA Aid in the amount of $481.00 was
added to General Income making the total General Income $72,214.00
and the General Levy Amount $62,252.00.
POST Reimbursement in the amount of
$1,000.00 was added to the Police Income making the total Police
Income $5,000.00. Police payroll expense was reduced from
$75,000.00 to $70,000.00 and Animal Control was reduced from
$1,000.00 to $700.00 making Total Police Expenses $89,500.00 and the
Police Levy Amount $84,500.00.
Motion made by Brian Hitchcock
seconded by Eric Sjolin and carried to adjourn.
