Concerned and Involved Citizens,

Last August the C&C, in partnership with the Akeley Area Breakfast Club, held a BBQ and Brainstorming Event. Over 50 people attended, gave their ideas, voiced their concerns and ate good food. The dream did not die that day. 

Since that time, the Akeley C&C has reinvented itself in the form of the Akeley Chamber of Commerce. We have grown from 7 core members to over 40 members. We have partnered with Park Rapids Chamber of Commerce for internet advertising and tourism. We have set up a website dedicated to the Chamber of Commerce and it's interests.We are moving forward and now we are asking for your input and assistance again in prioritizing the ideas expressed in August and coming up with concrete goals for the coming year.

We have called a Strategic Planning Meeting for February 13th. This meeting will begin at 5pm. At this meeting we will decide what directions we will be focusing on as a Chamber of Commerce in the coming months. Please plan on attending this meeting and bring with you the top 5 things you would like to see us accomplish. Following this email is the list that we all came up with last August regarding expectations of the revitalized Chamber of Commerce. Please bring this list with you to discuss, along with any additions you might come up with.
