Adult Activities:
United Methodist Women meet the second Monday of each
month. We begin with a hymn, prayer, and program. This is followed by
discussion of needs, and plans for dinners or other activities. The
church puts on two wonderful meals a year: meatballs and corn in
August, and turkey with all the trimmings in November, (The Hunters
Supper.)
Game night is the last Tuesday of the month. It begins
with a potluck followed by various card and board games.
UpNorth Quilters meet the first Tuesday and the third
Thursday of the month at 1:00 p.m.
The Mission Team serves an all-you-can-eat pancake
breakfast with a bake sale the second Saturday of each month.
The Men of the church have many skills that keep the
church grounds and parsonage in good shape, and one can frequently see
them in the kitchen washing or drying dishes as well as helping with
our big dinners.
When you walk through the door of the Akeley United
Methodist Church you are welcomed into the family. Someone will warmly
greet you, and invite you to stay for fellowship following the worship
service. You may even be invited to join in an activity or to
someone's home. We want you to know you are welcome to be a member of
our family of faith.
The Akeley United Methodist Church prides itself on
being a diverse faith community where members live their faith by
displaying enthusiasm, encouragement, generosity, and concern for
others in community involvement, mission support and worship since
1899.
Come join us and "Catch the Spirit" at
Akeley United Methodist Church!
